A little bit about me
I'm Vikki, and these two gorgeous girls are Penny and Indie, my two Serbian rescue dogs. Indie is the definition of loyalty - happiest by my side, while Penny, our brave little IVDD warrior, reminds us every day that life may be wobbly at times, but it can still be absolutely wonderful. Like many rescue dogs, they have their little quirks, which has enhanced my knowledge and understanding of dog behaviour and body language. I don't believe you have to be a dog person or a cat person - you can absolutely be both ! I adore both equally, and have been privileged to share my life with many feline friends over the years, plus a few rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even a pony. Sadly they have all now crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but are lovingly remembered as part of our family. My love for animals and their welfare extends across all borders. Having adopted three overseas rescue dogs, and fostered a further three, helping to prepare them for their forever homes. In 2013 I travelled to Serbia as part of a team of volunteers to work at a large dog sanctuary. The experience was incredibly rewarding and heart breaking, in equal measures, and was the catalyst for my career in pet care - leaving a secure job in Local Government administration to start my own dog walking business, which evolved over time into a dog home boarding business, which I successfully ran for 10 years. In 2024 I made the difficult decision to close to rebalance my work/home life. I spent a couple of years working part time for the NHS, however my heart was still in pet care, and I felt the pull to return to doing what I love.
